I'm still working on setting up this blog, but I wanted to leave my inaugural post right away.

I first noticed Alexis Denisof's portrayal of Wesley Wyndam-Pryce on Angel just a short time ago, and his performance completely blew me away! I'm always late to the party when it comes to pop culture, so forgive me for not being very knowledgeable about the show. I confess I have never seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This blog will just help me on my journey of discovery about the character of Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. I'm not an expert, and I'll make mistakes, but I'm looking forward to using this blog as an outlet to verbalize just what the show and the character of Wesley means to me.

I debated about naming the blog "I Heart Alexis", but I chose "Wesley" instead, because, frankly, I've never seen Alexis' other performance. I'll shortly be adding links to some of Alexis' fansites where you'll be able to get a lot better information than I'll be able to provide. I also chose "Wesley" because he is a fascinating character in his own right, and worth a lot of future blog posts, I hope.

In the meantime, if you're a Wesley fan, I'd love to hear from you!

This is an interesting little blog to stumble upon. I was late to the show with Buffy and Angel myself, only finding them during the summer of 2008. I always enjoyed Wesley, but I fell in love with Angel and now I'm an obsessed "Bones" fan.

Hi Sherry,

You have excellent taste! I'm very glad David Boreanaz went on to have a very successful career with one of the big networks.

I had a very hard time getting into "Bones" earlier this year, but I finally stumbled across the right episode, and now I love the series! I have an erratic work schedule so I don't get to watch the show too much, but I hope that some time soon I'll be able to sit down on a regular basis and catch up with the reruns.

I only *recently* stumbled across this/your blog. I was a *HUGE* Buffy fanatic, when it originally aired...but, that was when I was in 4th grade. As I've aged/matured, Buffy has become of interest for the purpose of nostalgia *only*.

I was not aware of Angel until '06/early ', I too was a bit late to the series. I loved Wesley in Buffy, but Angel & Faith were my favorite characters. Ever since the first time that I viewed Angel episodes, that has changed. Since then, Wesley is my favorite male character(Faith is *still* my fav. female chara.)and I have re-watched the whole series a *minimum* of 3 times. :P

I had the fortune of catching it from the first episode, this time around, and as I have been re-viewing the series, I have also been perusing your Wes-Blog. It's great to know that, even now, the show is turning n00bs into hardcore fanatics! I'm ESPECIALLY tickled to know that there are other people out there who adore Mr.Wyndam-Price the way I do!!

Seeing how your opinions of the characters/story-lines differ from my own, or (in *many* cases*)are nearly *identical* has been a true treat. So, I suppose the purpose of this RANTing comment say: THANKS. <3

Great to hear from you Lillith_Omega! It must have been wonderful to grow up with Buffy as a role model. I've finally seen all of Seasons 1-3 of BtVS and I've asked Santa to bring me Season 4 next month.

As far as different opinions, I've noticed that even my own opinions will change over time. As much as I want to look at the episodes objectively, I know I'm always influenced by my prejudices and past experiences.

Faith is amazing, isn't she? I hope to see her in Season 7 of Buffy some time soon. I saw glimpses of her in Angel and in Season 3 of Buffy, and I want a whole lot more.

Though I rarely watch human television, I wanted to register my appreciation of this blog and its loving analysis of the fictional Wesley Wyndam-Price--a y-chromosomed viewer, I'm actually not much of a fan of this show's predecessor, but this show's last three seasons are pretty magnificent, at least for its time--and the fortuitous combination of writing and Denisof's talented acting that ended up with the second half of Denisof's character arc (and character), are something I hope won't be forgotten. I appreciated watching him become the show's second, perhaps more nuanced and interesting, hero, at a much later date, and even later, reading this blog's thoughts, which I usually find pretty dead-on. Please do keep this blog up in-perpetuity, if at all possible. Otherwise, I mightn't have known there was anyone but myself who so-appreciated the character. Well done, and thanks.

Thanks for commenting, UnfrozenCaveBear. It's always nice to hear from fellow fans!

It's been a long time since I've seen any episodes of Angel, but the show is still quite near and dear to my heart. Wesley Wyndam-Price was a fantastic character, and I still can't get over how his character resonated so much with me. And, don't worry -I fully intend on keeping this blog up as long as Google and Blogger allow me to do so. :-)

Best wishes to you.
